Elenza Nina V2, arriving soon at The Espresso Shop

Brews and steams at the same time

Pull the shot, wait for steam, then do the milk. That is how it normally goes. The Nina V2 has a boiler for coffee and a separate thermoblock for steam, each with its own pump, so neither one waits for the other.

One machine doing two jobs properly.

Brewing wants one temperature. Steam wants a much higher one. Ask a single heater to do both and something always gives. The Nina V2 does not ask it.

A boiler only for coffee

500 ml held at your brew temperature by electronic PID control. Nothing else pulls heat out of it, so the second shot tastes like the first.

A thermoblock only for steam

Separate from the coffee boiler and quick to come up to heat, so there is steam waiting when you reach for the wand.

Two pumps, not one

Brewing and steaming each have their own pump. Run both together and neither drops pressure to make room for the other.

Control you can actually use.

Pure Fusion pre-infusion

Espresso mostly goes wrong in the first few seconds. Hit dry coffee with full pressure and the water cuts a channel straight through the puck, then runs past everything else.

Pure Fusion wets the coffee at a gentler pressure first, then brings it up to full. Both stages are adjustable, so you can set it for the coffee you drink and change it when you change beans.

PID temperature control, and your phone

Brew temperature is set electronically and held there, so the number you settled on last month is the number you get this morning.

The machine can be set from the Elenza app. Add the optional Elenza scale and it will end the shot at the weight you asked for, rather than leaving you counting seconds.

Who Elenza are.

Elenza build domestic espresso machines, from the Nina V2 through to dual boiler and multi boiler models with pressure profiling, alongside a commercial machine. The range is new to the UK.

The specification is consistent across it: PID temperature control, Pure Fusion two stage pre-infusion with both pressures adjustable, app control, and brew by weight with the optional Elenza scale. The larger machines are built around a saturated E61 group. Their own line for it is technology serves taste.

Elenza is in our range because that specification runs through the whole line rather than being reserved for the flagship. The Nina V2 is the model we are stocking.

The saturated E61 group.

On Elenza's larger machines, including the Athena below, the group is not a lump of brass bolted onto a boiler. It is part of the boiler. Brew water surrounds it instead of passing through it, so the metal the water touches is already at brewing temperature.

Heating

Boiler and group come up to temperature together, because they are one assembly.

Thermal coupling

No cold brass sitting between the water and the coffee, so the group does not need a throwaway shot to settle.

Brew water flow

Water leaves the boiler, turns down through the valve housing and spreads across the shower before it reaches the puck.

Athena

The Athena is expected after the Nina V2. Polished stainless steel, a 500 ml saturated E61 brew system, manual flow control on the group, and a lit acrylic side panel that is how most people notice it first.

Saturated E61

500 ml brew system, thermally part of the group.

Around 4 minutes

Thick film heating, ready to brew from cold.

Flow control

Adjust flow by hand through the shot.

Quiet pump

Vibration pump, with PID and app control.

What else Elenza make.

Not ordered yet. If one of these is the machine you want, tell us and we will look at bringing it in.

Modena V1

Dual boiler. A 500 ml saturated E61 brew boiler with a separate 1 L steam boiler.

Modena V2

The same dual boiler layout, brought up to date.

Siena

Dual boiler with manual pressure profiling and a DC rotary pump.

Raphael V2

Multi boiler with a three step pressure profile and a 2 L heat exchanger.

What happens after you buy it.

A machine is only as good as what happens when it needs something. That part is on us.

Five year warranty

Five years from the date you buy it, not one.

Parts on our shelves

We stock the spares rather than ordering them in when something goes wrong.

Repaired and serviced here

Our own workshop looks after these machines, the same as every other brand we sell.

The Nina V2 arrives soon.
