The price you see at checkout is the full price you pay. There is nothing extra to settle when your order reaches you.
When you order from The Espresso Shop for delivery in the United States, we take care of the import duties and tariffs on your order. No customs invoice, no fee collected at your door, and no parcel held until you pay.
Why this matters
Goods shipped into the United States from overseas can be subject to import duties and tariffs. The rules changed recently, and these charges can now apply to orders of almost any value, not only larger ones.
Many international sellers leave that cost to the customer. In practice that means an unexpected bill from the carrier and a parcel sitting in customs until it is paid. We think that is a poor way to treat someone who has already paid for their order, so we handle it ourselves.
What "duties paid" actually means
In shipping terms this is called Delivered Duty Paid, or DDP. It means the sender, us, takes responsibility for the import charges rather than passing them on to you.
For every US order we take on the import duty ourselves and ship on a Delivered Duty Paid basis through Royal Mail. The charge is billed to us as the sender and settled when your order reaches the US border, so it clears customs and is handed to USPS for final delivery with nothing owed by you.

What you need to do
Nothing. Order as you normally would. There is no extra paperwork, no charge to pay on delivery, and no action needed to release your parcel. The checkout total is final.
Common questions
Will I be charged anything when my order arrives?
No. The import duties and tariffs are covered by us, so USPS will not ask you for anything on delivery.
Does this cover tariffs, or just standard duty?
It covers the import duties and tariffs that apply to your order. Whatever is owed to bring your order into the United States is covered by us.
Is the price at checkout really the final price?
Yes. What you pay at checkout is everything. There are no separate customs fees, brokerage fees, or handling charges to follow.
How long will delivery take?
Most US orders arrive within 7 to 10 days once dispatched. You will receive tracking so you can follow your order the whole way.
